I make the trek from Boston to Las Vegas at least 10 times a year — for both business and pleasure — and, believe it or nor, I typically spend quite a bit of time in the various sportsbooks.
If you are planning a trip to Sin City, here are my sportsbook recommendations. Remember, I have not only been in the sports handicapping business for more than 30 years, but I have been betting sports for most of my life. Vegas has been a second home to me and it’s safe to say I don’t typically go there to take in a Cirque du Soleil show. I’m there to bet sports.
If you have any questions about the sportsbooks — or if your favorite book didn’t make the list and you want to discuss — please feel free to call me at 1-877-332-0077.
And, if you can’t get to Vegas on a regular basis and want a reliable source to bet with, you should seriously consider one of my Approved OffShore Sportsbooks.
I have personally used these OffShore Sportsbooks for many years and can tell you that they are fair, honest and trustworthy. What’s more, they also offer tremendous DEPOSIT BONUS OFFERS that even my best friends in the sportsbook industry in Las Vegas would never tender me.
So, please, don’t be afraid to take advantage of these offers!
Now, let’s head to Vegas!
1. Wynn Las Vegas
A sportsbook adopts the attitude and demeanor of the person in charge and that’s why Wynn Las Vegas is our favorite place in Las Vegas when it comes to race and sports betting. Johnny Avello is a 20-year veteran of the industry and he’ll do anything it takes to keep his customers happy. But it’s more than just the service that we like about the Wynn. This book is comfortable, but not overwhelmingly large. There are 37 plasma TVs and a trio of 12-foot-by-12-foot screens on the main wall that always have the marquee events of the day staring back at you. This is also a haven for horse players and if you’re hungry, the Wynn Las Vegas has, bar none, the best buffet in Las Vegas.
2. Bellagio
This is another spot where you’ll be comfortable (the leather seats are the best on the Strip) without being overwhelmed. And, also like the Wynn, the service here is impeccable. There are 150 state-of-the-art screens overall, as well as 32 flat screens in the sports bar and plenty of other sleek screens strategically placed throughout the book. And since this is usually my resort of choice when I’m in Vegas, I’ve become quite comfortable here. Call it my home away from home, if you will.
3. The M Resort
Technically, The M isn’t even in Las Vegas. It’s located in Henderson about 20 miles south of Mandalay Bay. Free shuttles go back and forth from the Strip to The M and if you’re a serious sports bettor, it’s certainly worth the extra effort to get there. The M, which opened in 2009, quickly made a name for itself for accepting huge bets, which makes it worth the trip. Another attraction here is the 32 Degree bar, which sits just outside the sportsbook and offers nearly 100 ice cold choices of draft beer.
4. Westgate Superbook
There’s a reason this sportsbook is called the “Super Book.” The newly renovated book at the former Las Vegas Hilton has the largest indoor video wall in the world and a new bar that provides some of the best vantage points in Las Vegas if you are a sports bettor. This is also the home of the best prop bets, so it’s worth venturing down to the North end of the Strip.
5. Mirage
My good friend and Las Vegas legend Jimmy Vaccaro designed this sportsbook when he opened it for Steve Wynn back in the late 1980s and if it passes Jimmy’s litmus test, who am I to argue? Everything you can ask for here, including comfort (love those leatherback chairs), plenty of TVs and good eats. Not to mention the high-limit of wagers typically accepted.
6. Aria at CityCenter
CityCenter is the massive new complex on the Strip that sits right next to Bellagio. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a sight to behold and we highly recommend the new sportsbook at Aria, the only building at CityCenter that has gaming. The sportsbook is small so if you’re planning to be there for a big event or an NFL Sunday, get there early. But if you land a prime seat, there really isn’t a more comfortable place to be for a day of watching football.
7. Palms Casino Resort
Plenty of reasons to like this off-the-Strip sportsbook, and not just because the Playboy Club resides 30 floors above. The Palms will get creative with its offerings and boasts 119 individual seats, each with its own flat screen. The newly renovated main section features a giant big screen and an additional 11 flat screens throughout the room. The oversized chairs make you immediately feel like kicking your feet up and most of the cocktail waitresses could easily pass for a Bunny upstairs.
8. The Venetian
This venue just opened in 2015 and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots. The screens are as crystal clear as any in Sin City and the service is just as good. I love the string of restaurants that The Venetian and Palazzo have on property so this is a great spot to hit after a nice dinner.
9. Caesars Palace
Some of my best memories in Vegas happened behind the water fountains and statues at good old Caesars Palace. This is an institution and if you haven’t experienced a big sporting event at Caesars you need to get there for an NFL Sunday this season. Six giant screens the size of the roof on your garage tower over the room as well as at least 10 crystal clear 50-inch plasmas.
10. MGM Grand
One of our favorite spots in all of Vegas to watch a big game with a small group of people is in one of the 300-square-foot skyboxes at the MGM. The main floor is also a pretty good option with over 40 plasma televisions that are 60-inches in size.
